In 7th grade Earth Science we will learn about many exciting things!

Put simply, the four basic areas of Earth science are: geology, meteorology, oceanography and astronomy. Earth Science is the study of the Earth and our neighbors in space. It is an exciting science with many interesting and practical things to learn about.

We will learn what Earth scientists know about the Earth and how they locate and develop energy and mineral resources. We will also learn the impact of human activity on Earth's environment, and discover methods that are being used to protect our planet. Our class will study the processes that shape and build up the Earth, as well as those that tear it down.

We will learn about volcanoes, earthquakes, hurricanes and other phenomena, and how people can use science to avoid these dangerous events. We will look at environments, rivers, ocean waves and currents and how they are interconnected. We will also discover some aspects of how these things effect our weather patterns, even here in Wisconsin!
